Lights of America 9011 Mar 23, 2011
By electrician at work I hate these lights. We do the lighting maintenance on a large condo property that has over 400 of these. They are cheaply made, sealed plastic. When one quits working, if replacing the bulb doesn't work, you have to replace the whole light. There is nothing to open up and repair. Inside is a little circuit board. Some last years, the newer ones not so much. The light it puts out is great. The bulbs last a long time. Walmart has the bulbs for half Home Depot's price. HD no longer carries this light, so I have to order online. I found them cheapest on Amazon.com. Really fast delivery. I will continue to order more through them.

By pat The best residential outside light I have ever installed in 40 years as an electrician! Plus 8 more words of praise. Only problem was too much for freight.

By Mr Ed Received light fixtures within 3 days. Installed them the same day I received them. My family feels much safer with the new lights at night. I got the best price on the internet.
Poor quality of photocell and bulb Sep 08, 2011

Have gone thru 2 of those fixtures in 4 years. The photocells usually break down first. After a short time the fixtures fill up with moth, bees, whatever else is attracted to light. (as long as there is light which is not very long!) Customer service came up with the suggestions to check the voltage to the fixture, clean the photocell window etc. Been there done that. What I did not do before I bought them is check with the Better Business Bureau. The company is rated D. The scale is A+ (excellent) to F. I'm slow but I'm learning!
If you want light that POPS!!! Aug 27, 2011

Considering that this fixture includes the 27 Watt quad-row CFL bulb that you would pay $12.00 bucks for in the store when the times comes to replace it, it's a pretty good deal. Effectivley the fixture itself is only costing you around $13.00. I'm almost of the mind to just buy a new fixture before I spend $12.00 to just replace the bulb when it burns out.
This unit puts out a lot of light and the fact that I can hard wire it to a constant A/C power source outside because of it's Photo Cell built in, makes it the perfect outdoor light fixture to mount on your house. I love the bright white light these put out. My house currently has 6 of these mounted around my homes perimeter. My house pops with light on the block. High tech look. People who walk in the cool of the night on our sidewalks appreciate the well lit property also.
The only downside to these units is the bulb itself. At $12.00 to replace, it's costly. They are not consistant is their life span also. I date every one I install and then take note if it reaches it's promised 12,000 hours of life the company claims. This has never happened. I base my calculation on a 12 hour night. I at best get close to two years and at worst only 1 year of service. I live with this shortfall because I can't find a better solution for the price.
These do not put out a soft light, so if you're of that mind, you'll just hate these. Tech minded people will love them!!!
