Have had 3 LOA 9001 lights for 4 years May 21, 2010

Have had these lights mounted on three sides of my house out in the countryside where there are no street lights. They have been great, providing much more light than you would expect from a 60 W florescent equivalent bulb. I use them in the on at dusk and off at dawn mode all the time. Additionally, they add almost nothing to my electricity bill. My uncle has a couple and his only complaint has been that he can't find them in the area any more. I am happy to have located them online.

Not well made Sep 13, 2009

I have had three different Lights of America fluorescent outdoor lights previously and not one of them has been a good product. The first was a 45 watt model on which the photo eye often failed to work. The instructions say to cover the lens with duct tape to disable the eye if you want to use just a switch but that didn't work. To get the light to work you had to tap it after it was turned on.
The second was a 100 watt fixture and it worked but only for about a year than failed completely.
This one has the same problem as the first. It only comes on if you turn on the switch and rap on it. The bulb always seems tight enough.
I have taken a couple of these lights apart and they don't seem to be well made. The plastic housings are quite flimsy though on this small lamp it doesn't matter as much. The electronics are evidently substandard and work badly or fail entirely. Lights of America products are made to be cheap rather than good so be aware.

Purchased first few from Home Depot, but Depot no longer carry's this model so Amazon gets the next order. The life expectance of the lamp is about 3 years when used as Dusk to Dawn. Overall the life of this fixture with normal lamp changes when used as Dusk to Dawn is about 5-10 years. My most recent unit was nine years so for the price this is a good buy.

By Steven P. Dumond After building a new garage this past summer I needed a area light that did not use much energy , I found this 15 watt fluorescent light with an electronic eye for dusk to dawn operation . It uses very little energy and lights up my whole yard . the price was right .

By dcbigfoot I bough this unit and liked it so much that I will get a few more in the near future. I looks good, the sensor works and eco friendly.
